Welcome to Sharon Franks home page.

Sharon Franks is an oceanographer working at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Her work since then has concentrated on facilitating the exchange of knowledge between scientists and the public. She is the co-author of the children's book, "You Can Be A Woman Oceanographer" published by Cascade Pass Inc. She has also been honored as one of Women in Science International's women of the month.

Sharon is married to Peter Franks , and dotes on her Golden Retriever, Dashi. She enjoys cooking and regularly makes bread and ice cream from scratch (no bread machines!).
